At The Old Bank Day Nursery, we are dedicated to creating a nurturing, stimulating and welcoming environment for all children. Our unique purpose built setting incorporates a
variety of educational theories, while always keeping the child's best interest in mind and allowing for hands-on experimental learning.
Within our setting, we are incorporating the 'Curiosity Approach' and 'Hygge' elements into our everyday practice. We are encouraging the children to investigate and explore a variety of natural objects. The children can enjoy lots of 'loose parts play', construction, sand play, nature based outdoor play to name a few. Our setting is decorated in natural tones and colours with an earthy, warm feel, lots of natural light, lamps, mirrors and pot plants to bring the 'home from Home' feel that we all love. To ensure a warm, inviting and nurturing environment for children to learn and develop.

As parents ourselves, we understand how busy life can be, so we’re removing the need to think about what to pack for your little one when they come to nursery! We also understand how the cost of living has impacted families and by providing nappies, and wipes, and we are giving back to the families who trust us with
their most treasured possession.
Blossom Babies
Our goal is to offer your child the opportunities to flourish and thrive as an individual.
The babies room provides care for children aged between three and twenty-four months. We have a growth centric approach that puts your child at the centre of everything we do. Creating an environment which allows the children to have freedom and have the feelings of awe and wonder through their curiosity, experiment and develop ingenuity. We look forward to welcoming them on their Old Bank Day Nursery adventure.
The baby room is divided into areas, which creates a space for mobile and non-mobile babies to explore safely. We have the main activity room which offers a messy area to allow the children to create mark making, a cosy corner where the children can have a some quiet time reading books or just having a cuddle and role play area where they can use their imagination. The exploration area offers sensory activities, loose part play, music and movement and much more for your child to grow. We have a separate sleep area for your child to feel safe and secure to get the much-needed rest time.
Willow Toddlers
Children need to have the freedom to lead their own learning… The Willows (toddler rooms) provide care for children aged between 24 and 36 months. Freedom is one of the most important skills in life, but this is a skill we can not teach. Freedom allows children to create their own activities, solve their own problems, make friends, manage emotions and interact with their peers.
We have a main toddler room where the children have access to a construction area, maths corner, a role play area (which is changed weekly for the children to grow their imagination), and a cosy den to
read stories and have some quiet time. The toddler room has a separate arts and crafts area where the children can get messy and explore their creative side. We free flow into our toddler garden where, again, the children have an environment full of awe and wonder.
At The Old Bank Day Nursery we nurture the children's independence from an early age. It is important for children to learn independence so that later in life they become self-sufficient individuals. Toddler children will thrive within an environment which creates opportunities for them to do more for themselves. If nurtured from an early age, children will want to develop those skills to enable them to become less dependent on adults.
Oaks Preschool
Our Oaks (preschool) provides care for children aged between 3 to 5 years. We aim to take your child on a learning adventure, providing experiences that make play and learning fun and exciting, and
fostering a love of learning. We want to provide opportunities for children to learn about assessing and experiencing risk, challenging ideas and realising their potential.
Our preschoolers spend the majority of their day in the great outdoors. The benefits of outdoor learning are vast. Behaviour is better, children can express themselves freely, and contagious bugs are significantly reduced. Here at The Old Bank Day nursery, our Oaks children take full advantage of the outdoor area. The children have the freedom to explore different outdoor spaces to use throughout the day.
Oaks have the whole of downstairs as their base, which they can return to after a busy morning outside constructing obstacle courses or being out on a bear hunt. The Oaks area offers space to read stories, take part in group games and enjoy craft activities. We all have our meals together, so we can talk about what we have enjoyed and plan out our afternoon. The children love to take part in activities that look after the local wildlife, experience the different weathers, and use their imagination.
